the „Veterinary Stem Cell Consortium“ (VSCC), under the direction of Professor Roger Smith and Prof. Dr. med. vet. Walter Brehm, and the Fraunhofer institute are delighted to invite you to the veterinary conference „Stem cell therapies – steps towards clinical use“. The conference will take place within the scope of the „World Conference on Regenerative Medicine on October 29th and 30th 2009 in Leipzig.

Regenerative Medicine is one of the most intensively researched medical branches, with incredible progress every year, which gradually turns more and more into clinical reality. Many of the pioneering innovations are achieved by cooperating teams of human and veterinary medical scientists. Therefore it suggests itself to hold a conference with the opportunity for each side to find out about the current progresses made at the other side respectively.

Already in 2007, at the „3rd World Congress on Regenerative Medicine“, the concept of combining a veterinary and human medical conference - especially in a young and current field as regenerative medicine - has proven to be very successful and has found a lot of positive response on both sides.
The unique alliance of human and veterinary medicine offers the participants of both branches a perfect opportunity to get a broad and interdisciplinary idea of the progress in the field of regenerative medicine and may serve as basis for future research cooperations.

The VSCC, is an international Consortium of Veterinarians with different specialization and with reserach affinity towards human medicine that was recently funded to realize this concept.

Within the last years Leipzig has established itself as a European centre of regenerative medicine and now unifies internationally renowned research institutions and namable scientists of all relevant fields in an inimitable way. Therefore the city is a perfect place to host such an event. Additionally you will have the chance to get to know this up-coming city with it´s charming and world famous old town.

Up to 200 veterinarians and leading scientists in the field of regenerative veterinary medicine are expected to attend the conference. The integrated industry exhibition offers the possibility to catch up on innovations in the industry and private industry sector
